Cole Journalism Scholarship Endowed

The endowment of the Robert C. Cole Journalism Scholarship was announced at a spring dinner for TCNJ’s emeritus professors.

Familiar Faces, Different Titles

Summer might be considered the off-season for TCNJ’s athletics teams, but it did feature the appointment of two full-time coaches with long histories at the College. In late June, Kelly Williams ’93 was named head coach of the men’s basketball team. Just two weeks later, Dean Glus MEd ’92 was permanently appointed head baseball coach.

Friends and Alumni Hit the Greens to Raise Some Green

golf ballDespite the 100-degree heat and high humidity on June 10, 103 people took to the links at West Windsor’s Mercer Oaks Golf Course to take part in the 17th annual TCNJ Athletics Golf Outing. The event, sponsored this year by Sodexho, has become a cornerstone fund-raising activity of the athletics department.

A Lifetime of Service Leads to Latest Honor for Jack Eisenstein ’49

Prior to his passing in August, Jack Eisenstein ’49 was honored by the school system in which he had served for decades as a teacher, coach, principal, and superintendent. Jack’s dedication to serving others was also evidenced by his service during World War II and his continued devotion to his alma mater.

The cause of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS), which claims the lives of more than 2,000 infants each year, remains a mystery. But the work of Jeffery Erickson, assistant professor of biology, could open new doors in the search for the cause of this silent killer.

TCNJ Finishes Third in 2007–08 USSA’s Directors’ Cup

The College’s athletics program finished in third place in the race for the 2007–08 US Sports Academy Directors’ Cup, making this the 13th straight year that TCNJ has finished in the top 10. The Directors’ Cup is awarded to the best overall collegiate athletics programs at the Division I, II, and III levels. TCNJ competes at the Division III level.
