This month in Lions’ sports history: Kimm Lacken’s December to Remember
The women’s basketball program’s all-time leading scorer also knew a thing or two about crashing the boards, something she proved during three memorable games in December 1986.
On December 16, 1986, Kimm Lacken ’88 hauled in 20 rebounds against Glassboro College (now Rowan University), tying the women’s basketball program’s single-game rebound record, which was held at the time by Judy Finch ’81. Two weeks later, on December 30, Lacken grabbed 24 boards against Allentown College (now DeSales University) to set a new Lions record, which still stands. Lacken, a 1999 Athletic Hall of Fame inductee, also had 18 rebounds in a December 29 game against Muhlenberg College; those three December 1986 games put her at spots 1, 4, and 7 on the program’s records list for rebounds in a single game.
