“Businessweek” survey ranks TCNJ Business as a top NJ program for undergrads

First in 2010, again in 2011, TCNJ’s School of Business placed No. 65 out of 113 schools that qualified for inclusion on the 2011 Bloomberg Businessweek Survey of Best Undergraduate Business Schools.

For 2011, TCNJ boasts the highest-ranked undergraduate business program in New Jersey, ahead of Rutgers University and Seton Hall University.

Introduced in 2006, the Businessweek undergraduate rankings are determined by nine measures, including surveys of 85,000 senior business majors and nearly 600 corporate recruiters, median starting salaries for graduates, and the number of graduates each program sends to top MBA programs. They also calculate an academic quality rating for each program by combining SAT scores, student-faculty ratios, class size, the percentage of students with internships, and the number of hours students devote to class work.

With over 1,500 institutions in the country offering business education, TCNJ is one of only two schools ranked in the survey that cater exclusively to undergrad business education.

“In challenging economic times we are happy to be able to demonstrate that top-quality undergraduate business education can be an affordable career investment. Our talented faculty and staff and supportive TCNJ culture make this possible,” said William Keep, dean of the School of Business.
