Mamawala
Adam Mamawala ’09, who was crowned “New Jersey King of Campus Comedy” at the 2007 NJ Comedy Festival in December, recently discovered that, unbeknownst to him, someone had created a Wikipedia page about him. Perhaps it’s a sign his star is on the rise.
The communication studies major beat out 36 other campus clowns from 12 colleges to win the festival competition. In the process, he picked up $1,000 cash, a trip for two to Cancun, and the chance to open for a big-name comic at New York’s Laugh Factory.
Mamawala, who describes himself as “more of an observational comic than anything else” and lists Jerry Seinfeld and Dave Chappelle among his favorite funnymen, is currently interning for the Trenton Thunder. You can check out his MySpace page for upcoming appearances: www.myspace.com/mamawalacomedy.
