Hope Fine ’11, a psychology major with a specialization in biopsychology, was named the first recipient of the Laurie Ann Mandara ’07 Scholarship. The award was established in honor of Mandara, who passed away from cancer in 2006, but who persevered with her education throughout her illness and treatment and was posthumously awarded a BA degree with honors at Commencement in 2007. Contributions from Mandara’s family and friends, the Class of 2007 Senior Class Gift, and the psychology department helped the fund achieve endowment status. Pictured above, from left to right, are Fine, Joy Mandara, Frank Mandara, Kimberly Mandara, and Allison Mandara ’07.
