Six Individuals, Two Teams, Inducted into Athletic Hall of Fame
The College of New Jersey’s Athletic Hall of Fame welcomed six former Lions players, and two teams of distinction, during the 2009 induction ceremony, which was held on Sunday, May 3, as part of Reunion Weekend.
The College of New Jersey’s Athletic Hall of Fame welcomed six former Lions players, and two teams of distinction, during the 2009 induction ceremony, which was held on Sunday, May 3, as part of Reunion Weekend.
The individuals inducted were Jeanne Hengemuhle ’92 (softball), C.J. Rockhill ’88 (baseball), Ronald Bussey ’84 (wrestling), Cathleen Filippello ’93 (field hockey), Joseph Clifton ’88 (football), and Robert Bornstein ’60 (football, basketball, and track). Two “Teams of Distinction” were also inducted into the hall: the 1981 women’s cross country team, which was the NCAA Division III Runner-Up; and the 1978–79 wrestling team, which was that NCAA Division III Champion.
