Laurie Ann Mandara passed away on September 29, 2006, early in her senior year, after a lengthy battle with lymphoma. She was a member of the Psychology Club and the Psi Chi Honor Society for psychology.
Manetas said that Mandara’s fellow classmates have already donated more than $6,000 toward the scholarship fund as well. Between these contributions and others from members of the psychology pepartment, the scholarship fund is within $3,000 of officially being endowed, Manetas said.
