As an account executive for Google Cloud, Alyssa Cori \u201917 connects her C-suite clients in the media and entertainment industry with digital tools (specifically Google tools) that make it easier for them to conduct business.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cori is what you\u2019d call a tech whisperer. She guides her clients through the latest technologies, such as artificial intelligence and analytics, so they can get ahead. \u201cBusinesses ignoring this technology are losing out on efficiencies and being leapfrogged by those using it to work faster, better, and cheaper,\u201d Cori says.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Cori then brings her client\u2019s feedback to Google\u2019s product and engineering teams, and advocates for tweaks and new features to the digital tools. \u201cI\u2019ve always wanted to figure out what\u2019s new and exciting and be thoughtful about it,\u201d she says. \u201cIf it resonates with me, I embrace new things.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a business management major, Cori started her career with internships in technology sales and data specialization. At an early job at IBM, Cori worked with banks to navigate fast-evolving technologies to fight financial crime, helping to detect scammers using false identities and matching transactions across payment platforms to identify suspicious activity. \u201cEarly AI and machine learning flagged suspicious activities that humans might have missed,\u201d she says. \u201cI felt a sense of purpose protecting people and banks from crime.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

From there, she was recruited by a fellow TCNJ alum, and joined Looker, a data intelligence startup that was quickly bought out by Google. With the rise of more advanced AI-powered tools like ChatGPT and Google Gemini, Cori seized the opportunity to transform customer productivity, sparking innovation in their everyday operations. She encourages clients to see AI as an \u201cextra team member.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

For example, Cori helped a publisher use AI to reach markets in vastly different countries and to adapt its digital media content for local context. \u201cAI-generated images need oversight to avoid copyright issues and ensure cultural sensitivity,\u201d she says. \u201cThere\u2019s still a need for a human in the loop.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When one of her marketplace clients faced language barriers when creating online bios, Cori helped the company use an AI tool to improve translation.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Working at the frontlines of a tech revolution, for Cori, AI isn\u2019t just a tool \u2014 it\u2019s the key to unlocking the future. \u201cAI helps unlock creativity, automate tasks, and free up time and energy,\u201d she says. \u201cIt enhances our capabilities.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
