Donations fund new state-of-the-art equipment for engineering school

Last spring, the School of Engineering acquired a 5-axis CNC milling machine, a state-of-the-art, computer-driven device that shapes various materials into the complex parts. “The device enables students and faculty to be much less constrained when they design solutions to engineering problems,” said Dean Steven Schreiner. “Moreover, its acquisition increases the value of the School of Engineering as a regional resource for providing innovative engineering designs to industrial and research partners.” The machine was purchased with donations from alumni, friends, and corporate donors. It is housed in Armstrong Hall.
