Ava Kiss ’08 set both a TCNJ and a national Division III record with a time of 55.08 in the 100-butterfly event at the 2008 NCAA Division III Championship, held in Miami in March.

Kiss, a four-time All-American, is TCNJ’s first NCAA Division III Women’s Swimming National Titlist. The only other Lion to win a title at the Division III Championship event was Diane Maiese ’98, who won the one-meter diving title in 1997.

“I am so very proud to be the first TCNJ women’s swimmer to win a national championship,” said Kiss. “I have worked for this my entire career at TCNJ, and to have this happen is just a dream come true.”
