Softball’s Miller collects 400th career victory
Softball Coach Sally Miller got her 400th and 401st career victories when her Lions swept an April double-header against Rutgers University–Newark.
A 1-0 Lions’ win over Rutgers–Newark in early April gave softball Head Coach Sally Miller career victory number 400. Miller didn’t waste any time notching career victory number 401, as her Lions defeated Rutgers 4-3 on the same day in the second game of a double-header.
With the win in that first game, Miller became the 45th NCAA Division III coach all time, and the 33rd active Division III coach, to reach the 400-win plateau.
Now in her 15th season at the helm of TCNJ’s program, Miller ranks among the most successful active coaches in Division III by percentage. She has guided her teams to 11 New Jersey Athletic Conference Tournament appearances as well as to the College World Series three times, winning the 1996 NCAA crown, taking fourth in 1997, and fifth in 2000. Along the way she has produced 13 All-Americans and six CoSIDA Academic All-Americans.
