Homecoming 1988 was held on a crisp, sunny, autumn day—the kind of day on which Homecomings are meant to be held. The week leading up to the main event saw the first-ever Spirit Week held on campus, a tradition that continues to this day. The week’s events included a lip-synch contest, a happy hour and bonfire, and a Dirty Dancing contest (hey, it was still the ’80s). Homecoming Day featured a float parade, won by Phi Kappa Tau and Alpha Sigma Alpha; a scarecrow-building contest; and a football victory (the Lions trounced Pace University, 31–3). The day was, as The Signal later reported, “just ducky.” At some point that afternoon, this group stopped to pose for a Seal photographer. Are you pictured here? Do you know someone who is?
