On the evening before Commencement, members of the Class of 2011 joined Dr. Gitenstein and other members of the campus community around the Science Complex Fountain for the “President’s Toast to the Seniors.” The annual event is part of the Senior Week program, which provides members of the graduating class with an opportunity for unity, closure, and celebration. Following the toast, the seniors took part in the Student-to-Alumni Processional, walking with classmates one last time from the Toast to the Senior Gala, which was held in the Student Center. During the processional, the carillons in Green Hall played the “Alma Mater,” which was written by Franklin Grapel ’33.
