Text-messaging System Implemented

Text messaging iconIn the wake of last year’s Virginia Tech shootings, TCNJ implemented a text- and voice-messaging emergency-alert system on campus last fall. Students, staff, and faculty can sign up to receive text-message alerts about campus emergencies, timely warnings of criminal activity, and information on major campus shutdowns. The service, provided to students, staff, and faculty at no cost, is just one means of alerting campus constituents of impending emergencies. TCNJ will continue to distribute information through additional channels, such as mass e-mail, TCNJ voice mail, listservs, TCNJ Web pages, and an emergency blog that is hosted off-site.
