In September, Mark Kiselica, professor of counseling education, was appointed vice provost of TCNJ. Due to teaching commitments for the current semester, Kiselica has been working as vice provost on a half-time basis, but by the end of the semester will increase his responsibilities to full time.

Kiselica’s responsibilities include the establishment of programmatic activities for a new Teaching and Learning Center, leading a campus-wide discussion of interdisciplinarity, and supervision of programs reporting to Academic Affairs, including Global Programs, Liberal Learning, and the Honors Program.

He has been with the College’s counselor education department since 1994, and earned the rank of full professor in 2002. Within the department, he has been chairperson and coordinator of the master’s program in community counseling; within the school, he has been acting associate dean and director of faculty recruitment and development.

His research has focused on the needs of teenage fathers, a population he believes has long been the subject of misconceptions and neglect. He has written more than 120 publications, including five books.

Kiselica received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Saint Vincent College, his master’s degree in psychology from Bucknell University, and his doctorate in counseling psychology from The Pennsylvania State University.
