Lacken, Former Basketball Standout, Named a Finalist for CoSIDA Academic All-America Hall of Fame
Former Lions’ women’s basketball All-American Kimm Lacken ’88 was named a finalist for the 2009 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Hall of Fame. A four-time Scholar-Athlete, she is the College’s all-time leading scorer (1,518 points) and rebounder (855) in women’s basketball, having earned Kodak All-America honors as a senior during the 1987–88 season.
Former Lions’ women’s basketball All-American Kimm Lacken ’88 was named a finalist for the 2009 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America Hall of Fame. Balloting for induction will be conducted later in the spring.
A two-time CoSIDA Academic All-American basketball player for the Lions, Lacken earned her degree from the College in criminal justice in 1988. A four-time Scholar-Athlete, she is the College’s all-time leading scorer (1,518 points) and rebounder (855) in women’s basketball, having earned Kodak All-America honors as a senior during the 1987–88 season.
Until this season, her name stood next to the women’s basketball single-game scoring mark with 33 points, which she achieved twice during her time with the Lions. The 1988 NJAC Female Athlete of the Year, Lacken was also named the recipient of the Varsity Lion Award as a senior, signifying her status as the College’s top Senior Female Athlete of the Year. She was inducted in TCNJ’s Athletic Alumni Hall of Fame in 1999 and holds membership in the Ewing High School Hall of Fame, which welcomed her in 2003.
She was named the recipient of TCNJ’s 1996 Department of Athletics Distinguished Alumni Award and was named the Trenton Select Committee Woman of the Year in 2003. She was also named the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office of Victim/ Witness Advocacy Award in 2000.
A magna cum laude graduate of the College, Lacken earned her Juris Doctorate degree from the Rutgers University–Camden School of Law in 1991 and is currently employed by the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office, where she is the deputy first assistant prosecutor.
