Chris Green ‘13, a computer science major from Millstone, New Jersey, competitively races off-road motorcycles.

Bisi Okoya ‘13, a health and exercise science major from Trenton, New Jersey, joins TCNJ’s Bonner program this year with a strong community service background from volunteering at such places as the Boys & Girls Club and a Trenton library.

Alexis Mandato ‘13, a nursing major from Jackson, New Jersey, competed in the USA Gymnastics Junior Olympic program and broke a state floor record.

Chris Krzoska ‘13, an open options major in the School of Science from Upper Saddle River, New Jersey, is an an avid windsurfer. Chris, a first-generation Polish-American, learned the sport from his dad in Poland.

With an ongoing national teacher shortage, especially in the areas of science, mathematics, special education, and world language, The College of New Jersey took action by hosting the New Jersey Future Educators Association Conference. Watch a video recap of the the event.

Sarah Cunningham, director of The College Art Gallery, and Michelle Nugent ‘09 collaborated on a public art project.

Keith Pecor, assistant professor of biology,and Sarah Wolfson ‘10 studied the distribution and ecology of several species of native and exotic crayfish in New Jersey.

Benny Chan, asssistant professor of chemistry, collaborated with chemistry students Sergio Pulido ‘09 and Sarah Wehrhan ‘11 on a solid-state chemistry project involving chalcogenide materials, funded by National Starch and MUSE.

John Allison, professor and director of forensic chemistry, collaborated with Shawn Donnelly ‘09, Josette Marrero ‘09, and Kevin Fowler ‘09 on a questioned-document analysis project. The project was suggested by the US Secret Service, which is searching for new methods to analyze inks from the printers.

Matthew Bender, assistant professor of history, Tamra Wroblesky ‘10, and Beatrice Kwok ‘10 collaborated on a study of the local populations’ perspective on the melting Kilimanjaro’s Glaciers.

Alumni and current students gathered to share their experiences and remembrances as part of a lively and laugh-inducing forum during Reunion 2008.

Highlights from May 2-4, 2008. Honoring the classes of 1958, 1983, and 1998.

The second annual President’s Scholarship Reception, held Friday, April 25, provided the opportunity to honor benefactors of TCNJ Foundation scholarships, and connect these donors with the students their scholarships benefit. The evening also featured the ceremonial groundbreaking for the Art and Interactive Multimedia Building. The building, which will feature studios, classrooms, offices, computer laboratories, and a recording studio, is scheduled for completion in fall 2009.

Guitar heroes, lay down your axes. The Virtual Maestro Interactive Conducting Kiosk lets you conduct an entire orchestra using a Nintendo Wii-mote.

What were a knight, a two-man horse, a lobster, a bear, and an evil lord doing in Lois Fichner-Rathus’ Art History II classroom? You’ll have to watch the video to find out.

Through the use of multimedia and innovative technologies TCNJ professors and students are examining issues novel ways and pushing the boundaries of educational innovation.

Over the summer, 10 TCNJ students took part in an eight-week interdisciplinary research program. Working closely with faculty sponsors, the research teams studied how Trenton has responded to social, cultural, economic, and environmental challenges.
